Provisional Psychologists
Christy Turpin is a dedicated provisional psychologist with a passion for both mental health and the sciences. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, where she graduated with distinction in April 2023. Christy’s journey into psychology is complemented by a strong background in science, with an Advanced Diploma from The Michener Institute in Clinical Genetics and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan.
Christy feels strongly about accessible
mental health services and strives to ensure her clients receive compassionate, purposeful, holistic, and client-centred care. Christy has specialized training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy to help expand her ability to support people with complex trauma and PTSD along with many other issues including depression, anxiety, grief, and couples who find themselves in need of a guide through difficult times.
In addition to her professional achievements, Christy was a nationally ranked artistic swimmer until the age of 18, an experience that instilled in her the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, all qualities which serve her well when working with clients as they work toward their therapeutic goals. Her experiences as a high-level athlete also allow Christy the opportunity combine her training and personal experience to help athletes with their own sports journey.
Christy is committed to growing both personally and professionally and has a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
Students
Practicum students are fulfilling requirements for their Masters degrees under supervised practice.
Lachlan is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Communication from Mount Royal University.
Lachlan approaches therapy with the understanding that it is not one size fits all. She values working collaboratively with clients in a way that honours their unique experiences, needs, and goals, while creating a supportive and client centred environment.
Coming from a long lineage of veterans and first responders, Lachlan has developed a strong interest in understanding trauma and PTSD, and how these experiences impact individuals, families, and relationships.
Outside of her work and studies, Lachlan enjoys riding horses, hiking, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
